LAKE CHARLES, LA – Crying Eagle Brewing Company has officially named the veteran leadership team that will helm its highly-anticipated lakefront location, signaling a major step forward for the project slated to open in Summer 2025.

In a public announcement made Saturday evening on the location’s official Facebook page, the company introduced General Manager Ryan Ozment and Executive Chef Lyle Broussard, two well-respected figures in the Southwest Louisiana hospitality industry.

The appointment of this high-profile team aims to deliver on the company’s promise of creating a premier destination on the developing Lake Charles lakefront. The project, a massive 12,000-square-foot facility on the new Horseshoe Casino property, represents a significant local investment in the region’s post-hurricane recovery and economic growth.

The new General Manager, Ryan Ozment, brings years of high-end restaurant experience to the role, having previously managed Vic & Anthony’s Steakhouse at the Golden Nugget and other local establishments. Leading the culinary team is Chef Lyle Broussard, celebrated for nearly two decades of work at L’Auberge Casino Resort, where he became known for his bold, soulful approach to Louisiana cuisine.

According to the company’s statement, the duo is tasked with “setting the tone for what Crying Eagle Lakefront is all about—great food, warm hospitality, and a true taste of Southwest Louisiana.” The menu is expected to honor culinary tradition while embracing creativity, complementing an on-site microbrewery focused on lager-style beers.

The announcement also included a call for resumes for all roles, indicating that the hiring process is now formally underway. While a specific opening date in Summer 2025 has not yet been announced, these appointments are the clearest signal to date that the community hub, complete with a restaurant, beer garden, and rooftop bar, is nearing the finish line.
